SEPTEMBER 20 - Ward 5 Walk Through
Author Last Post

Walk of Ward 5 is a community storytelling project that collects stories and experiences from Ward 5 residents to create a diverse archive of what life is like in our neighborhoods. Each neighborhood has its own unique character and history, and this project aims to highlight that richness through collaboration and storytelling.

Our main goal is to actively engage Ward 5 Residents from all backgrounds and neighborhoods, whether you’ve lived here for 20 years or just 2. Your voice matters, and we want to work with you to bring these stories to life.

Here’s what the project includes:

  • Central Theme that reflects the identity and history of your neighborhood.
  • Sharing personal or local connections, form family stories to local leaders.
  • Providing historical and cultural context to link personal stories with major historical moments.
  • Highlighting local businesses, new or old, and their role in the community.
  • Exploring triumphs and struggles, honoring resilience in the face of challenges.
  • Creating a visual and timeline presentation using photos, quotes, maps, and more.
  • Using research and source material to add depth and accuracy to the stories.
  • Developing storytelling and voice to engage the audience with clear, meaningful narratives.

We’re calling on passionate residents like you, who are willing to contribute your stories, experiences, research, collaboration, and time to celebrate our community’s legacy.
