HomeVolunteer Opportunities

COVID-19 Update: GBIV is committed to keeping our members and volunteers safe and healthy. Volunteer vetting, training and volunteer services will all be performed at a distance until otherwise noted.

Volunteerism is a cornerstone of the Village model, drawing upon the untapped capacity of people in our communities to support each other. The Brookland Village is run almost exclusively by volunteers like you!

Some of the benefits volunteers experience include:
  • Connecting with others, and feeling part of community
  • Putting talents, skills and capacities to good use
    • Staying active – physically, mentally and socially
    • Paying it forward – knowing that someday each of us will also need support

Brookland Village volunteers include members, youth, college students, retirees, and many others from the community. GBIV fervently believes that all of us, regardless of our age or circumstances, are able to contribute in a meaningful way and help one another.
