Strengthening Our Resilience in Challenging Times

About this event

Tuesday, January 14, 2025, 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM

This workshop will aim to help participants acknowledge sources of anxiety and distress related to current events (i.e. U.S. political environment, news cycle, economy, time of year, etc.), assess ways these issues and the related distress are negatively impacting you, and address ways you wish to regain and retain your healthy functioning and well-being across several dimensions, utilizing Diane Kerns' "S.P.I.E.S." multidimensional total well-being and self-care model.

S.P.I.E.S. are dimensions of our functioning and being: Spirituality, Physical Health and Surroundings, Intellect (mental skills, thoughts and pursuits), Emotions (attitude and feelings), and Social (interpersonal relationships and interactions), using Mindfulness, Self-Awareness, Resilience, and Positive Intentionality.

This workshop will be led by Dr. Diane Kern, a licensed psychologist in Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia with a wealth of experience and a well-established psychotherapy practice. Her Happy and Healthy U™: “Learn to Love Life and Live Well” services reflect her passion for empowering others to reduce stress and increase wellbeing and life satisfaction. She is known for her particularly warm and engaging interpersonal style.
